Nice days ahead on Lake Vermilion should offer up some great fishing before the next round of rain comes our way.  We are in the thick of the end of the season wrap up, and will enjoy being outdoors the next three days when 60 degree temps tempt us to sneak out on the water.  BUT, the weather that follows later in the week will help keep us on task with rain and highs in the 30’s by the weekend.

Thanks to the Schulmeister crew for sharing some pictures from the last week of the season.  They ate fish and caught some slot fish even though the weather was somewhat uncooperative at times.

Lake Vermilion water temp was 54 degrees Sunday and should stay pretty steady until later in the week when the fall drop off kicks in.  It is a little warmer than last year at this time when it was 51 degrees.  As you might guess, the fall colors are awesome but the leaves are really starting to fall.

The weather today is perfect for marking a bunch of items off the “to do” list.  Now is the time to start tossing around your dates for next year’s trip north — unless you are one of those guests who takes same week, same cabin.  If that is the case, don’t delay!  Enjoy fall – we know what is just around the corner — snowmobile season!!

Stop wishing…come fishing.
