Another block of great weather and fishing in the books! Between the smallmouth bass and the walleyes, there was plenty of fishing action to go around, and another week of fabulous weather found many tuckered out after a full schedule of swimming, tubing, playing volleyball & horseshoes and oh yes — frying fish! We welcomed a new group to Lake Vermilion and were thrilled that it didn’t take them long to sort things out and catch plenty of walleyes for several fish frys as well as many of the fish on the list below.

Smallmouth Bass:
20″, 19″, 18.5″, 18.5″ Don Hagen
19.5″ & 18″ Scott Boutwell
19″ Diane Gooden

Largemouth Bass:
19″ Don Hagen

Walleyes:
27.5″ Josh Campbell
27″, 24″, 23″, 23″ Mitch Arnold
27″, 26.5″, 24.5″, 21″, 20″ Tyler Boutwell
25″ 24″, 21.5″ Nicole Boutwell
24″, 23″, 21″ Wachi Garabedian
24″, 21″ Cathy Garabedian
24″, 21″ Dave Gooden
22.5″ Diane Gooden
21″ Tyler Hagen

Muskie action, like everything else this season, seems to be running a little behind schedule. The late ice out led to lower than usual water temps, but things are moving in the right direction, and the string of warm, humid days this past week had more fish showing up in their expected July locales.

Thanks again to those who spent last week at the resort. We enjoyed having you!
