The Lake Vermilion early June bite has been a little more inconsistent, with those who find the biting fish doing pretty well while other boats have had to work a bit harder.  Guests described some of those outings when it seems like they are going to struggle, only to have a flurry of activity that rewards them for their patience.  While several guests reported eating fish and taking their limits home too, the bite seemed a little tougher than the prior couple weeks.

On the flip side, the smallie bite has taken off with lots of 3.5 pounders being caught.  Add some walleyes for the skillet that are being picked up while targeting the bass and it makes for a nice outing.

Tyler Glad earned first Muskie of the year honors with a pretty 42″ fish.  See the picture here:  https://www.facebook.com/Everett.Bay.Lodge.Lake.Vermilion

James Talbert made his way to the EBL Wall of Fame with a 21″ Smallmouth Bass.  His cabin mate Gary Mabley had 4 smallies that were 4 lbs. Although it is early in his stay, Tim Magee is reporting plenty of nice smallmouth action.  Sounds like the Northern bite has been steady too.

Some of the fish our guests caught include:

Smallmouth Bass:  21″ James Talbert, 19″  Gary Mabley x 2, 19″ Tim Magee x 2, 18.75″ Gary Mabley, 18.5″ Gary Mabley, 18″ Tim Durnin x 3, 18″ Tim Magee

Walleyes:  21.5″ Tim Magee, 20″ Ethan Korf

Muskie:  42″ Tyler Glad

While its very short notice, we have an opening due to a cancellation next week.  If Lake Vermilion is calling your name, give us a call or e-mail and we can see about making that happen.  2 bedroom, lakefront, screened porch, dock space included.
