We are looking forward to a great St. Paul Sport Show, beginning Thursday, January 12th, and running through Sunday. That show is always a great opportunity to catch up with returning guests who stop by to say “Hi!” as well as meet new guests looking for their Fishing, Families and FUN adventure up north. Lake Vermilion is just the place. Look for Booth #2 and the Everett Bay Lodge sign.
Muskie action picks up as the week progressed. While the walleyes required more effort than past weeks, the large northern, muskies and smallmouth bass kept many guests busy this past week. 3 large northern over 40″ were caught, and the muskies are finally showing up on the rocky reefs with more regularity. In addition to those fish listed below, there were some “eater” walleyes caught along with some nice perch. The following fish were caught and released by our guests,… Read More »

Thank you to the guests who stayed with us over 2013 Lake Vermilion opener even though there was plenty of ice to go around. We appreciate your business. We are now officially ready to go as Dave got the docks in yesterday and all the pallets on today. We look forward to welcoming back the returning 2nd weekend regulars and hope that they along with some new guests have a great time fishing Lake Vermilion.
Came upon some Everett Bay Lodge history while searching around on the web for something else. Cabin 7 circa 1935 along with the Everett Bay Lodge “Lounging Room” from the same era. You can see plenty of similarities if you look at the current lodge picture. Just traded the guns on the back wall for Lake Vermilion fish.
With the approaching snow heading this way over the next 24 hours it looks like snowmobile trails will remain in good shape for a while. Temps are expected to be in the low 30’s with lows in the teens and twenties over the next five days or so. Lake Vermilion and the surrounding Taconite and Arrowhead trails will continue to be decent. Check us out if you need a place to stay. 800-249-3178
St. Paul show kicks off Thursday and runs through the weekend – Booth #2. A little time in between while Eric and Val both play in Hockey Day Minnesota, then it’s off to Chicago for the new Schaumburg Show January 24th – 27th – Booth #700. Looking forward to seeing familiar faces and getting things rolling for the 2013 season. Hope to see you there.
These birds are usually very shy. I managed to take them today when they were right in front of the lodge. Dave
Yesterday we had over an inch and a half of rain that was followed by 6+ inches of snow. Freezing rain snapped some trees and it’s a sloshy mess right now. The power was out for many hours due to the freezing rain. We look forward to some warmer weather. Dave
April 2nd is the new official ice out date record. It’s never been earlier. View of Big Bay without ice.
