Chicagoland Fishing, Travel & Outdoor Show in Schaumburg

Chicagoland Fishing, Travel & Outdoor Show in Schaumburg is in the books, and we can’t even begin to count the number of familiar faces we saw there.  It was terrific to catch up midyear with the many guests who were here in 2017 and are heading back up in 2018.  Seeing all that gear makes everyone pretty anxious to get up north.  We also crossed paths with prior year guests who have missed their time up on beautiful Lake Vermilion,… Read More »

Plenty of Lake Vermilion Bass Action

Plenty of Lake Vermilion bass action helped pick up the slack for the less consistent walleye bite last week.  We were able to sneak out Monday after dinner and kept 7 for Tuesday’s dinner, and while a handful of guests did just fine catching their limits of walleyes, others seemed to struggle.  Our outing found leeches and crawlers to be equally effective, in 14 – 24 feet on Big Bay mid lake structure. Large mouth bass seemed to be the… Read More »
