The warm weather arrived this past week
and it made for some really great fishing. The smallmouth
bass were on the beds as water warmed close to the 70's.
Smallies were being caught on a leech and a bobber.
Carl Manier's group, who hadn't fished
the lake before, did really well on smallmouth. They caught
about 40 the first day. They also managed to catch several
walleye. They're biggest walleye was a 28. Dan and Debbie
Raleigh released many big walleye. A 26, four 25's and
several 20's. A slip bobber and a leech worked for them as
well.
The northern action was steady.
Nothing huge to report but the medium sized fish were
steady. Now that warm weather is here, the muskie action
should start pretty soon.
