After a great opening week, fishing was
pretty solid for the second week. The only distraction has
been big wind at times. Walleye still are hitting minnows,
and they've started to hit crank baits. Water temps are now
in the low to mid 50's. Lake levels are above average .
Northern action has been real steady in
the warmest water and weeds. Smallmouth bass action is still
ahead of us. Just a few were caught in the second week. Next
week should be better for smallmouth. Largemouth and
bluegill have yet to show up in shallow water. Still too
cold.
