This week we saw fish come shallow
for the first time in a big way. From muskies,
northern, walleye, bluegill to bullheads all were
there. These were some really nice fish too. Connie Buchner
and Brad Tebo caught 26" walleye, Bob and Alyssa Bestul each
caught 22" walleye. The walleye bite has really been good
the last few days. Bluegill were
huge. As big as 10.5 inches were caught on bobbers with a
pinch of crawler real shallow. Smallie action is still
limited. The best is yet to come for large and smallmouth
bass. Northerns are being caught in the weed growth that has
started to develope. My son caught a 38" northern the other
day.
Water temps are now in the mid 50's
for our bay. Out on Big Bay the temps are much lower, closer
to 50. As expected, the high water has led to some great
success so far.
