For the last week we have had cold front
after cold front upon us. Luckily, no big thunder storms.
We've had some really pleasant days followed by chilly and
windy days. Nonetheless, nice fish have been caught. Bill
Johnson caught a 21" smallmouth on a leech and bobber.
Dennis Zizzo and his fishing partner Scott have caught and
released three walleyes in the 22-23" range casting cranks
as well as two 20 inch smallies. Rhoda Nygren's first fish
for the week was a 22" walleye. I believe the big walleye
may be shallow along with the smallies now.
We're still seeing bass and panfish
spawning on calm days. The water temps are in the low to mid
sixties. Spawning muskie have been spotted just yesterday.
Haven't seen any big northern caught yet. Muskie Tom told me
he caught a couple of 10-12 pounders earlier this week.
Let's hope some stable warm weather
develops shortly.
May your pole always be bent! Dave
