Yesterday, was a good walleye day with
fish being caught in a big chop 30 ft. deep. The wind was
gusting to 28 mph at times, but if you could brave the waves
most caught quite a few fish. I understand the crappies have
started to move shallow in Black Bay.
The water temperature has stayed at 50
degrees, quite low for this time of year. Nonetheless the
weeds have started to develop. The weather is supposed to be
unsettled for a couple of more days with sixties predicted
for later this week. Maybe that'll get them shallow.
Many small northern have been caught this
past week. They've been caught trolling and casting in
shallow bays on crankbaits.
Some smallmouth have been caught tight
to shorelines or points. Still too cold for them to spawn.
They must be up there looking for a meal.
We have the pool up and running. It
won't be long before it's warm enough to swim. It's hard to
believe Memorial Day is almost here and May is almost over.
Make plans now and let's go fish'in. Dave
